|Property and liability risks
As recreational activities continue to grow on the water, so does the risk of accidents.
Even experienced boaters may make mistakes once in a
while. The cost for accidentally hitting a swimmer or a
water skier could be very high. Can you afford to pay
for liability damages? It's better to purchase boat insurance now than wish
you had later!
|Transporting and storing your boat
Another risk you should consider is of transporting or
storing your boat, trailer, or other valuable equipment.
This is something many of us don't think is a big issue,
but you can cause just as much damage to your boat
on land as you can in the water.
Your boat is probably one of your most valued possessions. If your boat were
stolen or expensive equipment you would most likely want to be compensated. Vandalism
could also be an issue many do not think is important, but it is very common. A
boat should be covered no matter who is operating the boat, as long as the operator
is legally allowed. Stealing a boat is actually easier than stealing a car. In
case of motor failure the motor may be covered and the insurance could allow
the boat to be towed.
